Upgrade the NetApp Backend

Overview

In StarlingX r13.0, the NetApp backend is provided by the StarlingX-provided netapp-storage application. For more information, see Configure an External NetApp Deployment as the Storage Backend.

Procedure

Migrate from Releases Earlier than StarlingX r13.0

For deployments running a release earlier than StarlingX r13.0 with a NetApp backend installed using the previous Ansible-based approach, the platform upgrade to StarlingX r13.0 automatically migrates the backend to the netapp-storage application. No user intervention is needed to complete the migration.

Rollback an Upgrade

If you perform an upgrade rollback during the upgrade procedure, the NetApp software installed on the previous release is restored as it was before the upgrade when the system returns to the previous release. In case the previous release is lower than StarlingX r13.0, the NetApp software Ansible-based installation will be restored.

Upgrade a Future Release

For future releases, the netapp-storage application is updated automatically when you perform a platform upgrade. No separate upgrade procedure is required.
